Privacy

Who is responsible

Girish Gandhi, New Delhi, India. For any question or request about this page, email girishgandhi1995@gmail.com.

Cookies and browser storage

• Theme (light or dark): your choice, kept in your browser only and never sent anywhere.
• Cookie choice (cookie-consent): remembers whether you pressed Accept or Decline.
• Visitor id: only if you press Accept, a random id is kept in your browser for 180 days so that repeat visits count as one visitor. Without your consent it lives only in the current tab and is gone when the tab closes.

You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of the portfolio.

Analytics

• Google Analytics is loaded only after you press Accept. Until then nothing is sent to Google, and if you press Decline later it is switched off again.
• Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights count page views and page speed in aggregate. They do not use cookies and do not follow you across other sites.

The chat assistant

Your questions are sent to OpenAI to write the answer. They are also saved for up to 60 days so that Girish can see what visitors ask and improve the answers. A saved entry holds:

• your question, with any email address or phone number masked, and the first part of the answer;
• your approximate city, region and country (never your IP address), the time, and a random session id.

The thumbs up or down under an answer, and the optional note with a thumbs down, are kept for 60 days as well. Please do not put sensitive or personal information into the chat.

Messages and forms

When you use the contact form, or leave a message through the chat after ticking the consent box, your name, email address and message are sent to Girish by email through Web3Forms. A message left through the chat is also kept for 12 months so that it can be answered. It is used only to reply to you.

Abuse protection and hosting

To stop spam and misuse, your address is used briefly, as a one-way scrambled value, to limit how many requests one visitor can make. It is not saved in the chat log. The site is hosted by Vercel, which may keep standard server logs under its own policy.

Other services involved

Vercel (hosting and aggregate analytics), OpenAI (chat answers), Upstash (the database that holds the 60-day chat log and 12-month messages), Web3Forms (delivering forms by email), Google Analytics (only after Accept) and Cal.id (only if you open the booking link, which has its own privacy policy). Each of them has its own privacy policy.

Your choices and deleting your data

Email girishgandhi1995@gmail.com to ask what is held about you, or to have it deleted. Chat entries do not contain your name or email, so please mention roughly when you chatted and what you asked, so the entry can be found. Nothing is sold, and there is no advertising on this site.

Children

This site is aimed at recruiters, hiring managers and clients, not at children.
